Massimo Vitali Beach Photos

A couple of weeks ago I shared this room and mentioned how much I love oversized beach prints.  Massimo Vitali is an Italian photographer who started a beach series in the mid-90's that is responsible for my obsession with giant beach prints in interiors.

I love how his photos of beaches and seasides have such an airy feeling.  They're not overly saturated and pristine like most post-cards, so they actually make you feel like you could be there on the beach.   There's also something about them that makes you wan to walk up close to the photo and study what was happening on each of those blankets.

Check out how they can add a touch of vacation and light to a room...

Correction: Although a similar style, the photo above is actually by Christian Chaize  -- His Portugal photos have a similar vibe (and sadly the large prints are similarly expensive)  -- see them here.

From Lonny.

I am also just in love with how modern/current  large scale prints look on a wall.

Hi Meagan! Dave just sent me the link to your blog and I have been browsing the archives -- I absolutely LOVE it. Re the beach photos thought you'd also like this guy --

I think one of his prints might even be in a picture above! (I recognize it as a beach in Portugal that I have been to -- so incredible.)

Thanks Katie! Yes, you so are right...I should have realized! I had been eying these photos on 20X200 .. too bad the price jumps so high when you try and order a big print!

These are- so. Incredible. I love them! So simple! The cost is a downer though! I'm actually a designer and artist in Hollywood, and you'd be suprised how expensive prints actually are! I want to make mine affordible but you have to cut out the profit :). Haha. These are lovely, thank you for sharing!

perhaps I'll go down to the beach later and snap some photos...!

Love these photos! The extra large print over the busy pattern is my favorite, what a lovely and stunning look...

I've seen his photos in a gallery here in Paris (It was Lumas, I think) and I love them.

Reminds me of our beach vacations in Italy. There is no beach like the Italian beach with its orderly rows of bright coloured umbrellas. I am going soon and I shall take some snapshots.
