While I don't think I could ever get my hair nearly as high as Ms. Bardot's famous hair, it's still fun to imagine. While bikini shopping online this past weekend, I found myself browsing old pictures of her on Pinterest. As one of the women who helped make the two-piece popular, there are some awesome photos of her in glamorous summer outfits. It's amazing how current she looks - with her bleach blond hair and thick eye-liner, it's hard to imagine that these photos are over a half of a century old.

The image above came from a hair tutorial... maybe I'll have to give it a try...
If you're as intrigued as I was, you can browse even more photos of Bridget Bardot here.
I had a lovely weekend here in San Francisco and beyond. We finally got some nice weather, and by escaping north, we actually got some warm sun! It was a close friend's last weekend in San Francisco, so we celebrated with pink drinks, time outside, and lots of tasty Italian food.
We spent Saturday afternoon at Bar Bocce in Sausalito. It was my first there and it was the perfect spot for an afternoon hang outside of the city. We spent a couple of lovely hours outside by the water enjoying delicious food and a couple of competitive bocce ball games.
On Sunday, we ventured even further north. In Healdsburg, we browsed antique shops (I'll share some finds later this week), stopped in fabric store, tasted wine, and enjoyed the heat.
Here is a photo a friend snapped at the fabric store of me among my favorite color.
Then, a friend took us up to Catelli's in Geyserville, were we had a lovely late lunch outside by the garden. The food at Catelli's was delicious, and I will definitely be back. We had artichoke dip, truffle fries, a prosciutto and cheese plate, and fresh ravioli. Everything was tasty but the warm sourdough bread and fresh burratta cheese were amazing!
Here is the cheese plate:
And, the tasty artichoke dip:
Then we headed home. There was traffic on the bridge, but we made it across before the fog rolled in so it was perfectly clear. Not a bad view...
Happy Monday!
We finally settled on summer vacation plans and I can't wait to spend a week on the beach in Hawaii. However, when I was brainstorming/daydreaming of other places I might want to spend a week off, I came up with a long list. We were mostly looking at rental homes and condos, but somehow I also stumbled upon some amazing hotels. Most of the resorts and hotels I have stayed at in the past are pretty mass-produced, with decor that is simple enough to put in hundreds of rooms, and patterned carpets that don't show dirt so it's good to know there are better options out there. I've been dying to travel through Italy, and while Rome was on the top of my list, I might have to change that for a stop in Capri or Florence to stay in one of these JK hotels. Check out the image below of J.K.Place on the island of Capri. Every room in the hotel is stunning. I think the simple blue and white motif is stunning, and they do a great job of making it feel beachy without covering everything with shells and lighthouse motifs.
Can't you just imagine an afternoon nap in one of these heavenly beds, looking out on the bright blue Tyrrhenian Sea?
After discovering the J.K. Place in Capri, I also found that they have a beautiful boutique hotel in Florence as well. The decor is equally stunning.
I hope you have a lovely vacation for yourself planned!
Happy Friday!

I adore Blake Lively. She is somehow stunning while also feeling like a real girl. There was a lot of back-lash online when Karl Lagerfeld announced she would be an ambassador for Chanel, but I think it was perfect. For those of you who didn't agree, have you seen her most recent Glamour spread? She looks amazing and is oozing some serious old-school glamour.

PS - While I think the pictures above are amazing, her cover shot was not. Ugh, I hate when they photoshop so much that people's faces look weird and distorted.
