In Case You Didn't Notice

There is a tiny bit of similarity between Princess Katherine's fashion choices and that of the lovely Princess Grace.

I like it.

However, I think I liked Grace Kelly's neckline and sash-waist better.

And, So Sets in the Royal Wedding Fascination

Even here in San Francisco, over 5,000 miles from London,  coverage of the impending royal wedding is unavoidable.   Aside from wanting to see pictures of the dress, I honestly did not think I cared about William & Kate's upcoming royal wedding.  Yet,  all of the coverage has won me over!  I can't wait to see this real fairytale princess wedding. (Correction, I can wait - because there is no way I'm waking up at 4am of to watch it.  But, I am very excited to see the pics)

After a lost couple of hours watching 'Royal Wedding Week' late Sunday night on TLC,  I feel like I am surprisingly interested in the monarchy.  I honestly didn't know there was so much drama and failed marriages.   It really makes you respect Her Majesty.

I learned a lot about the monarchy and their weddings :)   I won't bore you with the details, but I will share some pictures.

While there is a lot of coverage of Princess Di, her dresses look very 80's and dated. However, I loved the dresses from Her Majesty the Queen's 1947 wedding.  Really,  I don't know how many people even noticed the bridesmaids with the princess/queen on center stage, but, I love the soft layers of fabric, applique flowers, and sheer shoulders.  Plus, how cool are the almost Greek style wreaths in their hair?

Here is a close up of Princess Margaret as a bridesmaid.   Not the best picture, but  I love the skirt and shoulders. I think it would look great if we just took off the bow and re-fit the bodice.

I love that over half a century later,  fashion not that far off.

One more thing.  With all of the royal wedding recapping that's been happening over the past couple of weeks,  I think one of the most beautiful royal weddings was Grace Kelly's.

How stunning is  she in this dress?!???

I know 95% of women wear of  strapless dresses  these days but  she looked amazing all buttoned up.

P.S. It's hard not to admire Grace Kelly's beauty, even outside of her wedding.
