Styling Ideas for My New Bar Cart

After longing for an old fashioned bar cart to set up in my apartment,  I finally found one durring a quick trip to the Treasure Island Flea Market a few weeks ago.   I need to take a photo to share it,  but in the mean time,  I figured I'd share some of my inspiration for how I'm going to fill (and style) it.

I know they're super trendy right now, but the real reason I'm planning on setting up a bar is because we have such a tiny kitchen.  I'm hoping that moving the bar to the dining room will give us more room when we have people over.

I love how the pops of red on the cart somehow tie in to the awesome collage on the wall behind it.

Those cobalt glasses are stunning and the bottom shelf is stuffed much like I expect ours to be.

This one is clearly set up for a party,  but I bet bottles and glasses are stored there year round.

I love these simple matching decanters.. another thing to add to my list.

I also need to find an ice bucket. I'd be quite happy if I found a tortoise one like above.

Then it's time for a party!

I Just Discovered: Blendo Glass

Reading this issue of the online magazine Lonny, I discovered a style of vintage/antique glassware that I'm totally in love with.  I can't find much detail about it but apparently Blendo glassware was produced by the West Virginia Speciality Glass Company in the 50's and 60s.  It is a mix of clear and frosted glass often with gold detailing.  What I love most about it is the cheery spring colors that it comes in!  As I mentioned a couple weeks ago,  I'm in need of some more color in my kitchen.

I'm surprised I haven't seen more of this at flea markets because there seems to be no shortage.  Check out all the fun options that come up when you search "blendo" on eBay and Etsy.

Here are some of my favorites:

How cute would they look lined up on a little retro bar cart?  Perfect for ladies night drinks or maybe even summer sweet tea?

I Think I Need: a Bar Cart

With the tiny galley kitchen in our 1-bedroom apartment, it can be a bit frustrating to have guests over (although that definitely doesn't stop us) But, I think it would be great if we could set up an area to serve drinks outside of the kitchen.

I also think that a bar cart would be a cool accent piece - I love the old Hollywood flair. I've been hunting at local flea markets and on Craigslist but unfortunately I haven't found anything in my price list yet. But, I have rounded up a few I'd pick up if I had the extra cash.

Love the bamboo ($1,600 here)
