Retro Floral Prints

Florals? For spring? Ground breaking. (So said Miranda Priestly, Devil Wears Prada)  Yeah, I know it's not ground breaking, but I am totally craving a vintage-y floral print skirt. But, I'm on top of it because it's not even spring yet, right?  How can you not love a colorful flowery print? I understand it's a total cliche, but I've seen a bunch of fun floral skirts out there and I think pairing them with a simple button down or striped t-shirt would look totally fresh.  And, what's doubly exciting, is that  I think one of these almost antique looking floral prints will look just as great at the office (especially the pencil shapes) as they will when I'm  headed out to brunch on the weekend.

Bright Pants!

My absolute favorite trend from the Fall 2011 runways was bright colored pants, especially in red and orange hues.   A style that was once reserved for only the preppiest of preppy-- I think these images prove that they are totally wearable by anyone!

All images from style.com

I got an amazing deal at Gap last month on some bright red cropped corduroys and I can't stop wearing them. They honestly make me happy every time I put them on!  Obviously they will be great for spring but I also think they work well with layers to spice up a classic sweater or coat like they showed on the runways.

It looks like all the Gap corduroys are gone but I found a couple of fun colors at Zara, TopShop and American Apparel.  Pictures along with some other inpsiratioal photos are below.

Penny Lane - Almost Famous.

I don't re-watch movies very often but every time I catch this on TV, I get sucked in.

This scene is one of the main reasons

I also love the relaxed 70's style throughout the movie. -- Wouldn't you want to be on a bus with this cast?

Wearing Red

The holidays are coming up and clearly I'm using it as an excuse to daydream about fancy cocktail attire. Although red is everywhere during the holiday season, it seems rare to see "real" women rock the color for evening look. (I'm not counting the now standard "ugly xmas sweater" look here)

Anyways, I saw this photo of Jessica Biel on NY Mag where she is re-staging a glamorous old Revlon ad.

And, It reminded me that she has worn some beautiful RED looks in the past.
I think these two are both stunning:

It's funny.. . when I searched for these red carpet looks, they were both on blogs questioning her style... I guess everyone has their opinions..

Such Pretty Dresses

I stumbled upon Amy Claire's website after seeing a cute little dress on Taylor Swift(?!) and I'd happily wear any of the Fall 2010 designs!
Sequins seem to be all the rage this holiday season but I think these black and nude combination of lace and chiffon have such a great fun but polished look.

I even love the shoes-Mary-Jane's with little bows!
