Instant Style: Navy Sofa + Eclectic Glamour

Remember the "instant" room from last week?  Well if  you got bored of that more classic look, check out how quickly you could mix it up by just replacing the rug and accessories.

The pieces:

Brass arch mirrors (on sale for $69 at World Market) - I love two of these mirrors paired together over the sofa or a console table

Blue and white cheetah lumbar pillow ($165 at Society Social)

Antique brass pharmacy lamp ($190 at Lamps Plus)

Navy pink and white batik pillow ($185 at Amber Interiors) - With the hot pink accent pillow is the perfect mix of global and modern glamour.

Navy performance velvet sofa ($1,099 at West Elm)

Tufted yellow linen chair ($1,698 at Anthropologie)

Multi-color flat woven turkish rug ($800 at Furbish)

Natural stump side table ($159 at West Elm)

Instant Style: The Blues

A lot of people are scared to buy saturated furniture pieces, and then end up with the same beige sofa and chair set in their living room. Don't be afraid of buying big furniture pieces in color!  As long as something is a classic shape, in a color you like, you can always make it work.
Here is my first example:  a navy blue sofa.  Look #1 is a pretty simple/classic living room with a variety of blue shades.

 The pieces:

Blue & White mixed pattern pillows ($45 on Etsy)

Grey-Blue sheer window curtains ($15 at Target)

Tufted yellow linen chair ($1,698 at Anthropologie)

Natural stump side table ($159 at West Elm)

Multi-color bird migration abstract ($130 at ImageKind)

Tonal blue stripe rug ($320 at Lulu and Georgia)

Navy performance velvet sofa ($1,099 at West Elm)

Would You Ever Try a Yellow Sofa?

These fancy folks make yellow sofas seem surprisingly approachable...If I was starting a new room from scratch, I'd definitely consider it...

I think it all started with Jenna Lyons' NY living room...

This one even works in a sectional!  If you're looking to recover an old sofa, maybe you should consider an unconventional color...
