Indian Summer Prep from Chance

The indian summer has finally arrived in San Francisco and the warm weather has me craving some preppy basics.  To me, the Chance clothing company is the epitome of perfect summer style.   I love the breezy photos from their summer lookbook. (above and below) Give me a striped top and a simple scarf and I'll be good to go.

Founded by Julia Leach, a former creative director of Kate Spade (another favorite of mine),  Chance is based around the perfect simplicity of the striped shirt. Here are some of my favorite pieces from Chance:

Jason Wu: that dress...

I love a lot of the looks that have come down the runway over the past couple days, and Jason Wu's spring 2012 show was no exception.  To me, his dresses feel very Oscar de la Renta with a bit  more edge.  This dress is the one that has most stuck in my mind and has me wishing I could have someplace to wear it :)   I love the chartreuse, the drop waiste ruffles, the exposed ankle and of course the exagerated full skirt.   The coral lip is the perfect touch.

PS -  Speaking of gown lusts, it seems like I've been loving drop waist dresses recently. Another one I totally fell for was this Prada gown that Gwyneth Paltrow wore at the Contagion premiere earlier this month.  How amazing/pretty is the back of this dress?

Happy Monday from Boston

Hope your week is getting of to a wonderful start!  Just a heads up that a business trip has taken me to Boston until Thursday (while I'm excitedly following Fashion Week virtually).  I'll share more fun and style inspiration when I'm back in the bay later this week.

Some Girly Pop Art

I'm not sure where I originally came across Heath Killen's work, but I love his bold illustrations.  He seems to have done everything from album covers to corporate info-graphics but it was this series, "Ordinary Flora" that I bookmarked a while back and keep coming back to.   I love anything pop-art style and I think his graphic combinations are just perfect! 

I think it is a bit too girly for my co-ed apartment;  however, if I had my own space (maybe a craft room one day?), a giant version of this would be hanging in it.

I love this one too....How great would they look in a graphic black and white room?!
