Look for Less: Ankle Strap Black Pumps

This fall pointed pumps are back in a big way.   I adore this silhouette from Alexander Wang, but I'm considering this $49 pair from Zara instead.

Splurge:  Alexander Wang Black ankle strap pumps - $485

Deal: Zara black suede ankle strap pumps - $49.90

Navy & White (Nautical) Decor Inspiration

Maybe it's just  impending labor day which is giving me anxiety that summer is coming to an end, but sometimes I just want to start over, and make everything navy and white....

My Look: Striped Shirtdress

Shirtdresses are one of my weekday secret weapons.  I love being able to throw on a dress, a pair of heels and head out the door.

Wearing: Madewell striped shirt dress, Target woven belt, Nine-West chunky sandals (a few years old, but similar here)

Interested in picking one up of your own? Here are some of my favorites:

Falling for Punchy Drop Waist Dresses

There's nothing easier to throw on than a bright structured dress.   Why not try replacing your jeans with one of these drop-waisted numbers?  They're super wearable for day with a pair of easy flats. Or, throw on a pair of heels and some sparkly jewels and  you're ready for a night out.

Yellow: Three Floor yellow drop waist dress ($165, Shopbop)

Red: Diane von Furstenberg Maeryn poplin drop-waist dress ($385, Saks)  (also, a very similar red shift drop waist dress for just $84 at Topshop here)

Green: CÖ kelly green drop-waist tailored crepe dress ($70, Urban Outfitters)

If you like the drop waist look, but don't want to give up shape,  I'd point you towards this Kate Spade number.

Kate Spade New York "Siren" hot pink ruffle hem sheath dress ($297, Zappos)

Circular Photo Prints (an Etsy Roundup)

I've had a recent obsession with circular cropped photos.  I think it's especially intriguing with seascapes, because the shape is reminiscent of looking out a porthole.  But, the shape also adds some interest to what might be otherwise generic photos as well.   I think these would a great way to break up rectangular images in an art collage.
