Pardon My French (ie. Hey Garance Doré, can we be friends?)

One of those crazy things about the internet world, is that you start to feel like you personally know complete strangers; Garance Dore is a perfect example of that connection.  I love her blog (and her boyfriend's blog), and now with her web series "Pardon My French"  I've become slightly obsessed.    What I wouldn't give to be sitting with Garance and Diane at that coffee shop.... 

Video Catalogs: Spring/Summer 2012

I love seeing fashion in motion. So, I'm a huge fan of this trendof film replacing static images to share new collections with the world.  Some Spring film catalogs are already showing up on the interwebs... here are some fun ones...

This Betina Lou video perfectly captures what I want my summers to be (sitting on the beach, biking through sunny fields, and of course high-waisted shorts and striped tees)

This Opening Ceremony film is just a video they made while shooting some of their Spring looks, but it's fun to see the variety of models and styles they have.  Plus, I'm in love with the diamond striped t-shirt and skirt combo around 1:15.

 I also love Charlotte Taylor's fun bright Spring Summer 2012 patterns and mirror affect..

Style Through the Years

This video has been bouncing around the internet and I had to share. It's awesome to watch the evolution of fashion and dance moves over the past 100 years. when I have to pick a decade, I usually gravitate towards 50s fashion, but I'm loving the 60/70s here.

I always love style features that provide inspiration for wearing an object a bunch of different ways. Because, lets be honest, it doesn't make sense to buy new dress every time you want to change up your look. Not only does this video from FabSugar give you some fun ideas about how to style a super simple white dress, but I just thought the video was cute.  Plus,  I've always loved a little white dress.

San Francisco's "Unseen Sea"

As most of America is excitedly welcoming warm weather, I am trying to enjoy every bit of the sun before San Francisco gets overtaken by summer fog. It can be very difficult to describe SF's summer weather to people that haven't experienced it. Often responses are something like: "Wait, you're saying its COLD in July?!" and then, they still show up wearing shorts. Last year, a friend shared this awesome video by Simon Christen of San Francisco's fog and I came back to it for some reason as I've been dreading the cold days.

He did a really beautiful job at capturing the clouds, so maybe this will help clarify what it's like here in the summer.
