Green + Blue Decor Inspiration

Green and blue go perfectly together, and I love how lively and fun they can feel when layered in a room. Recently, I've been especially feeling this color pair, when layered with a range of different versions of green, blue, and teal/turquoise colors in between.

This living room took a bolder approach, but I think the green in the sofa helps break up what could have otherwise been an overpoweringly blue room.

These beautifully graphic green curtains are perfectly complimented by the turquoise sofa.  A standard beige sofa wouldn't have nearly the same impact!

Today is a Good Day

The perfect print for a Monday from Wild Horse Home...

I love how instead of a frame,  it's a retro wall hanging.  Almost feels like you could hang it up anywhere, just as a little reminder :)

DiY Inspiration: Painted Espadrilles

Growing up, I definitely had a pair of converse and  a pair of Vans that I decorated myself with some super fancy doodles(Along with white out decorated backpack -- did anyone else do that?!)    ..... Anyways... I would have been totally OK  to leave drawing on my shoes as a thing of the past, but I recently saw these darling customized espadrilles on J.Crew's blog, and now I'm heavily considering delving back into the art of shoe-doodling.

My favorite are the stripes and the anchor pair (big suprise!)

You can pick up your own Soludos here for just $28.  I think it might be fun to start with the yellow and add either stripes or my own ditsy anchor design.

Beachy Photo Prints

My latest fashion obsession is a trend that has been all over runways for the past couple seasons -- photo prints.  The clincher was this photo I spotted of Olivia Palermo and Tibi designer Amy Smilovic that I spotted on Pinterest.

I just adore Amy's Stella McCartney Skirt and how cool does it look paired with a simple white tank?

Here it is in all of it's glory (70% off at Net-A-Porter!)

I think there is something cool about the "midi" length, but I'd also love this short version:

Obviously, the Hawaiian print is quite a statement,  but I also like some more subte photo prints.  Check out this dress from designer Caron Callahan's spring line.  I love how the landscape print almost looks like stripes from a distance ($315 at Les Nouvelles)

Even TopShop is in an the action with this darling pleated landscape print mini skirt by Marios ($110 at TopShop)

So, what do you think -- are these landscape prints fun or just too trendy?

Summer Essential: the Perfect Yellow Dress

The second the summer sun comes out, I'm drawn to yellow.  And, a soft tan + a flowy yellow dress is all you need for the perfect summer outfit.

super simple yellow street-style perfection, as captured by the SartorialistMs. Olivia Palermo out for a casual bikeride.

Fancy Treehouse in earthy, daisy-chain, yellow perfection

Kate Moss in a killer vintage yellow chiffon dress...

Turns out this is actually a yellow skirt and blouse, but either way, Ms. Blake Lively is glowing...

the awesome drama of a flowy (yellow) maxi dress on a beachthe dress that inspired my senior prom dress :) (Kate Hudson in yellow silk from "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days")
