Beachy Photo Prints

My latest fashion obsession is a trend that has been all over runways for the past couple seasons -- photo prints.  The clincher was this photo I spotted of Olivia Palermo and Tibi designer Amy Smilovic that I spotted on Pinterest.

I just adore Amy's Stella McCartney Skirt and how cool does it look paired with a simple white tank?

Here it is in all of it's glory (70% off at Net-A-Porter!)

I think there is something cool about the "midi" length, but I'd also love this short version:

Obviously, the Hawaiian print is quite a statement,  but I also like some more subte photo prints.  Check out this dress from designer Caron Callahan's spring line.  I love how the landscape print almost looks like stripes from a distance ($315 at Les Nouvelles)

Even TopShop is in an the action with this darling pleated landscape print mini skirt by Marios ($110 at TopShop)

So, what do you think -- are these landscape prints fun or just too trendy?

Elle Fanning.

Wow.  Sometimes you find yourself insanely impressed by a 12-year old?  Elle Fanning has been shot for a bunch of magazines over the past couple of months and every time I see her I'm in awe! It's hard not to be inspired the poise and beauty she already has as a 12-year old! Love these shots...

How stunning (yet still age approriate?) is she in this Chanel dress? (from Interview Magazine)

The photos of Elle and her older sister Dakota together that were shot for W Magazine are also super inspiring.

I even love this retro hair & makeup from Teen Vogue.

And finally, one last image from Marie Claire.

Why not blow up your family photos?

I think photos are a really important part of personalizing any home.  However, homes can often be cluttered with tons and tons of photos leaving visitors overwhelmed with where to look.    So,  why not pick a favorite (and fun) photo to make the focal point of a wall?  One of my favorite examples is this underwater photo (above) from of Lulu de Kwiatkowski's Los Angeles home in Lonny Oct 2010.

Here is another one of my favoites,  that designer and photographer Lori Andrews did of just a family's legs. (how cute?!)

This big black and white photo in an orange accented dining room is also darling.

One last example (probably price prohibitive for many), the Novogratz blew up a black and white photo to wallpaper a bedroom.  (Pretty fun, until they're teenagers...)

Photography Style-Edition: Heart Shaped Bokeh

Played around with a bokeh filter last night and I wanted to share the first images that I came up with.  I've  been waiting a few days for a clear evening to see if I could get a fun heart shaped silhouette of the Golden Gate Bridge; unfortunately it seems to be the wrong season for that. In the mean time - check out how a simple piece of paper with a heart cut out can change the view from my camera.

I had been wanting to play around with bokeh shapes since I saw this on Color Me Katie.   If you're ever looking for a pick-me-up,  stop by her blog! She is always doing someting silly and colorful, like taking a colorful walk through NY...

Wedding Style: Have you Seen Kate Moss's Dreamlike Wedding Photos?

Have you seen these? (Sorry for the repetition if you have!) I perused the September issue of Vogue in my recent travels (yes, it's already out!) which featured photos from Kate Moss' recent wedding and I was completely enthralled.   Not surprisingly, the amazing Mario Testino took some awesome pictures, but it was the photo of Kate with the wedding party in the trees that really blew me away.   The angelic flower girls in gauzy white dresses and  flower crowns honestly remind me of  pretty little fairies. (in a good way!)

The article mentioned that she wanted her wedding to be completely different than what people expected and I think she achieved it!  These photos make it feel so relaxed and simple!

Love this mother daughter shot too:
