My Look: Party Pants

Remember when I was on the hunt for some silky printed (pajama style) pants?  Well,  when I was in New York in June, I finally found a pair at Zara!  Of course, they were everything I'd hoped they'd be :)

I recently just did my best to re-create Zanna's look, on a budget...

What do you think?  I think they were definitely worth the $60 at Zara, and I expect I'll be wearing them all fall.  If you're willing to give the trend a try, I've seen them popping up everywhere.  Here is a quick roundup of some similar pairs:

1 - Tolani Gaucho Pant ($152, Couture Candy)

2 - Diane von Furstenberg Georgia embroidered blue and white silk pants ($385, Net-a-Porter)

3- Vince blue geometric printed silk pajama pants ($171, CUSP)

My Look: Windblown Stripes

Caught of few photos of my outfit the other day.  I'm not the type of person who can let my favorite dresses sit in the closet waiting for the perfect opportunity to wear them, so I tend to layer them with more casual pieces (like this trucker jacket)  to make them wearable for more "everyday" occasions.  I picked up this Lauren Moffatt dress a few years ago on Gilt, and I think it's the perfect mix of classic with a twist -- I expect it to stay in my closet for years to come.

The details:

Blue and green striped silk dress  - Lauren Moffatt, via Gilt

Denim trucker jacket - Levi's

Strappy sandals - J.Crew

Rafia clutch - Forever 21 (Similar)

My Look: Camo & Yellow

I wouldn't normally consider myself a camo person, but at $16 last summer,  this jacket caught my eye.  I typically pair it with neutrals (like jeans and a tee or a white dress) but yesterday I threw it on with my yellow pants.

The details:

Camouflage Twill Jacket (Old Navy)

Yellow Twill Jeans (Loft)

White button down (Forever 21)

White Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars

Repurpose Clip-On Earrings as Shoe Clips

Adorned shoes and even shoe clips seem to be popping up everywhere recently (even Madewell) which led me to consider ways to jazz up my own shoes.  In one of my antique fair trips, I realized that the large clip on earrings that I love might actually work on my shoes.

I thought I might have to buy some shoe clip backings to make them work,  but no need.  I just used the earring clip to snap them right onto my shoes:

It's a super easy way to repurpose costume jewelry and give life to your old shoes. (Even kinda remind me of Carrie's blue Manolo Blahniks)

I threw them on with  pair of jeans last week, but I think the clip-ons would work equally as well  on a pair of black pumps with a LBD for a more formal night out.

(Wearing: Zara green suede pumps with vintage clip on earrings,  Seven jeans (super old), J.Crew silk blouse, Nordstrom boys navy blazer)

My Look: Gingham and Stripes

This is one of my outfits from last week... Nothing fancy, but I had fun layering patterns.   People mix patterns all the time,  but I think one of the easiest ways to do it is by sticking to a simple color scheme.

I'm wearing:

Gap blue & white stripe shirt (old, a rip-off of this)

Forever 21 blue gingham button down (old, here is a similar at J.Crew)

Levi's legging jeans

Zara ballet flats

Red H&M necklace (similar to this J.Crew bauble)
